Luxury Shaving Soap in Wooden Bowl

I've been wet shaving for 65 years - started out when my grandmom gave me a wooden bowl of Yardley Lavender. Used that brand until sometime in the 80s or early 90s when the shop on Bond Street closed. Just purchased a bowl of T&H Luxury and it's been a real treat! Wonderful, very faint and subtle Lavender aroma and a marvelous, comfortable shave. I put a few drops of warm water on the surface of the soap while I wash my face - then work up a great lather on the brush and get it onto my beard. Very slick and protective shave soap. No nicks or bleeders. Very nice indeed!

Truefitt & Hill Luxury shave soap lathers very easily, and produces enough thick lather for several passes. The lather provides an excellent glide without skips or drag. The lather will start to breakdown faster than a cream, but this is not uncommon for hard soaps. The glycerin based soap cake contains no alcohol or waxes, and will not dry out the skin. The very light lavender scent from the added lavender essential oil is mild and fast fading, with no extra fragrances added, making this suitable to be called an unscented product and a viable option for sensitive skin. The lather rinses clean, and leaves no residue. This shave soap is only for use with a quality shave brush.

This is the 15th shaving soap that I have tried this year, and is so far my favourite. It lathers very nicely and the slickness of the lather lasts longer than a lot I have come across. I shave my entire head and I find that a lot of soaps will weaken after a few minutes, causing the shave to get worse as I work around the sides of my head. This one performs quite well, the smell is very light, but manly and pleasant. I am also not allergic to it, so that is a plus.

I wanted to try this shaving soap so I purchased it about a month ago. T&H is right on with this soap. It gives a very close, clean shave. I will try the shaving cream for my next purchase. I wish T&H would offer a after shave splash with this scent: it's terrific. Very happy with this purchase and highly recommend.

Upon receiving and opening the packaging you know right away you're about to become exposed to a top class shaving soap. Once you open the elegant yet somehow manly wooden dish you see the attention to quality appears endless. As for the shave this product does not disappoint. A smooth and close shave is a guarantee when paired with my safety razor. The scent leaves room for an aftershave or cologne but the subtle, fresh, business like scent of the soap is great for the office or places that strong scents may be discouraged. I am 100% satisfied with this product and will happily purchase a refill when necessary. As stated, a top class product!
